Yes Virginia, There is an Election
Virginia is having a critical statewide election this year. Virginia's next Governor, Executive Team and entire state legislature are on the ballot.
You, our supporters will know that in 2017 we partnered with Virginia Leadership Institute and our combined efforts helped several Diversity Pipeline Pledge champions take seats in the Virginia General Assembly! Then in 2019, not only did we help them re-take their seats, but we added a great new champion, Josh Cole, who tipped the balance and helped flip the entire Virginia legislature!
Now Republicans want to flip it back again by targeting some of our vulnerable Diversity Declaration champions. We need to have their backs. Please do what you can to help Delegate Josh Cole keep his seat in Stafford County, and support one of our earliest champions, Hala Ayala, make herstory by becoming Lieutenant Governor!
What can you do to help? REMIND everyone you know in Virginia that it's very important to vote this year! Since Virginia has off year elections, turnout is often low. But we know when we vote, we win so we need everyone from our communities to vote! Early voting starts in just one month, on September 17. Please share these key dates widely.
