Georgia on our minds...
With LESS THAN A WEEK left for voters to register for the runoff election, we’ve all got Georgia on our minds. Together, we can all play a part helping Georgia set even more voter turnout records — whether it’s helping people you know register and request absentee ballots or sending texts and postcards to folks. How will you keep pushing for democracy in Georgia and the country? #TogetherWeVote
Democrat Jon Ossoff is facing incumbent Republican David Perdue, and Democrat Rev. Raphael Warnock is facing incumbent Republican Kelly Loeffler. These races will determine whether the Dems or Mitch McConnell control the U.S. Senate for the first 2 years of the Biden/Harris administration.
Here’s some ways to support the two Democratic challengers for U.S. Senate in the Georgia runoff.
Write letters with Vote Forward.
Letters to be mailed December 7.
Help encourage voters from historically underrepresented communities in Georgia to vote during early voting or on Election Day. Georgia voters have the chance to choose their next two U.S. Senators in this runoff election. By encouraging Georgians to show up at the polls, we can help ensure that all voters' voices are heard.
Phone bank to register voters with New Georgia Project & Seed the Vote.
New Georgia Project is the premier community organization registering voters in the state of Georgia. With the Senate runoffs coming up on January 5th, we need to make sure every eligible voter is registered before the December 7th deadline and we are working with NGP to identify those voters, call them and get them signed up to vote.
Write your own postcards with FlipTheWest.com or phone bank at home.
See their high priority events here. Flip the West and Commit to Flip Blue are hosting virtual phone banks in support of the two Democratic challengers for U.S. Senate in the Georgia runoff. Sign up and you will receive an email from Flip the West with links to Zoom and all the info you need. Don't forget to let us know if you need phone bank training.
Sign up to volunteer phone / text bank with Asians for Osoff & Warnock.
The Asian American Advocacy Fund was recently cited in Washington Post. We are working to mobilize Asian American communities to vote Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock to the United States Senate by engaging community members at their doors, calling them to action over the phone, organizing them across social media platforms, and providing them with in-language resources necessary to make an educated decision at the polls. In doing this work, we also aim to build consciousness within our communities of the power and responsibility we have as Asian Americans to build a better future — not only for our own but for all Georgians.
